Introduction to Translation

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:-

• Understand the skills required to become a professional translator
• Transfer various linguistic & grammatical structures from English into Arabic and vice versa appropriately, without changing the meaning.
• Understand what is meant by translation competence
• Enhance the speed of the mental translation process
• Produce equivalent messages that are linguistically and grammatically clear
• Evaluate personal language skills
• Develop expertise regarding students’ working languages in the practice of translation
• -English to Arabic translation constitutes 50% and Arabic into English represents 50% of the course material.
