Dokhana is an Egyptian researcher and translator; recently recognized as a literary translator. She is a graduate of the English department, faculty of Arts, Cairo University. She studies Politics of Translation M.A. program at Cairo University.
Dokhana started her profession in 2019, and has a recent work in literary translation. Working on the trilogy of Reykjavík; the crime series, by the Icelandic author Lilja Sigurðardóttir, she has translated two novels into the Arabic Language: Snare, Trap. They are out now as الفخ and المصيدة respectively.
Recently, Dokhana translated two masterpieces by Lilja Sigurðardóttir. Sigurðardóttir's first English novel was ‘Snare’ in 2017, which was the first in the Reykjavik Trilogy too, also known as the ‘Sonja’ series. Her novel "Trap" was published in 2019 and translated into many languages including Dokhana's Arabic translation of the novel.
Lilja Sigurðardóttir is an Icelandic crime-writer born in 1972. She is the author of novels, stage plays and screenplays. She raised in Mexico, Sweden, Spain and Iceland. An award-winning playwright, Lilja has written four crime novels, with Snare, the first in a new series, hitting bestseller lists worldwide. The film rights have been bought by Palomar Pictures in California.
